This week’s Diamond in the Ruff is not a cat or dog, but a ferret! His name is Apache (ID 565808), and he was surrendered with his brother Logan because the owners did not want to care for them anymore.
Ferrets, who act much like cats, are curious creatures by nature – they do love to hoard things so if ever end up losing your keys, more than likely your ferret has them! They are energetic pets who love to have fun but will doze off for the majority of the day.
Both boys have been trained to use a litter box and have been handled by children. And because ferrets love to be in pairs, the Humane Society of Broward County will waive the adoption fee for Logan! So if you think your family would be a good match for these two lovable brothers, come and meet them today.
About the “Diamond in the Ruff” Series:
Longtime Humane Society of Broward County supporter J.R. Dunn Jewelers will be helping to create true love – by sponsoring pet adoptions so that more dogs and cats can find happy homes. The program is called “Diamond in the Ruff,” and who knows diamonds better than J.R. Dunn?
J.R. Dunn will feature a pet each week and will underwrite the entire adoption fee for that dog, puppy, cat or kitten. Diamond in the Ruff will be promoted through J.R. Dunn’s local radio spots and social media, and the HSBC will do its share of promotion as well. What a fabulous way to put their money where their heart is, and to bring attention to all the amazing dogs and cats that are so ready to be loved. Furry little diamonds in the rough – just waiting for their “perfect setting!”
Be sure to visit J.R. Dunn’s facebook page each week to see who the featured pet is and you might just find your next family member. Of course to meet the pet, contact the Humane Society of Broward County at 954-266-6839.
