You all know we have some phenomenal clinic stories, but this one takes the cake. Are you ready for this? 🐹

Hamster

Over a month ago, one of our adoptable hamsters escaped from her cage overnight. We spent the next few weeks feverishly searching for her, to no avail. We honestly had given up hope of ever finding her.

Well, over the past weekend… WE FOUND HER!

She had been scavenging for food scraps for the past few weeks and having quite the adventure. Unfortunately she broke her leg somewhere along the way.

As you can imagine, it is very difficult to repair such a small critter, and the break was severe. Although she seemed to move along fine, we could tell she was in pain, so we decided to amputate the leg.

Can we just say – This hamster is a miracle! Not only did she pull through the surgery, but she was up and attempting to run in her wheel within minutes (yes, MINUTES) of waking up from the anesthesia.

As you can see, no creature is too small to deserve the best care and a second shot at happiness! We live to help all animals (no matter their size) and your support is critical to this mission. Won’t you please consider making a small donation to help cover the cost of this little gal’s surgery?
