Dog Behavior & Obedience Classes

Positive Reinforcement “Doggie Be Good” Training Classes

Every week the Humane Society of Broward County receives dogs surrendered to the shelter because of behavior problems!

The good news is you do not have to give up your dog because he has problems, every dog does! Instead enroll him in Doggie School and teach him the rules through our POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT dog training classes.

The next sessions for our “Doggie Be Good” training classes are:

Sunday, March 3rd at 10:00 AM
and
Sunday, April 28th at 10:00AM

After the November dog obedience session all classes will ONLY be offered on Sundays. We hope this is a temporary situation and that we will be able to offer the Saturday class again soon. Registrations will be accepted as usual but please remember when using our online form please only mark your Sunday time slot choice.
Thank you for your patience.

Puppy Pre-School classes are available on Saturday mornings at 8:00 AM and are located in Trailer 2.

Puppy Pre-School

Start your puppy off on the right paw! Your puppy will get the chance to socialize with other puppies and learn basic puppy manners. A different Puppy-Parenting issue will be covered each week. Sign up today!

The crate can make such a dramatic difference that animals who otherwise might have been brought to shelters have become excellent family pets. Learn how to use the crate to your advantage here.

Training FAQs

We have compiled our most asked training questions into a user friendly guide below.

Training your dog with treats and praise! Enrolling yourself and your dog in positive reinforcement training classes goes beyond teaching your dog to sit and stay. It’s about improving communication between you and your dog and building a stronger bond. Learning the basics this way will also build the foundation for additional training and curb the development of behavioral problems.
