8-year-old Bronzy has been at the shelter since June.

She’s a lovable girl who lights up around people but 3 months is too long for any animal to spend at a shelter and we knew she needed a little happy release. So, we loaded her up into our camper van and headed out for some surprise fun in the sun.

Turns out, Bronzy is a natural beach babe! She got the chance to splash around and enjoy the rays during her special trip. She didn’t even seem to mind the sand between her paws.

It wouldn’t be a beach day without some activities and Bronzy really loves playing with her toys. So much so that she had to bring the toys into the water, too. No toy gets left behind when Bronzy is around!

We hope Bronzy’s day off was just what she needed. With a smaller animal population as a result of the health pandemic, one positive outcome is that our staff is able to spend more time with animals, like Bronzy, who really need it.

Sadly, the health pandemic has also created immense hurdles. As a result of the limitations placed on our public services and the cancellation of several of our fundraising events, the shelter is experiencing a financial deficit of nearly $1 million dollars. We are finding it harder than ever before to provide the services animals in our community need.

While our team provides plenty of love and attention for the animals in our care, a shelter is not a home and we know Bronzy would much rather enjoy her time with her forever family.

If you are interested in adopting Bronzy, she is heartworm positive, so her new family must be willing to bring her back to the shelter as an outpatient a few times so she can be treated. It is not contagious to other dogs and is spread from the bite of an infected mosquito. Thanks to Dolly’s Dream, her adoption fee is sponsored so she gets to go home with all the essential goodies.
