New Adoption Procedures in Response to COVID-19
As we monitor the quickly changing situation surrounding COVID-19, the Humane Society of Broward County is also making adjustments to help keep our visitors and our staff as safe as possible.
Starting Saturday, March 21, we will move to an appointment-only adoption process. If you are interested in adoption, you must first have a confirmed appointment before coming to the shelter. Guests will not be admitted into the building for adoptions without a previously-scheduled appointment. We are asking that only serious, potential adopters apply for an appointment.
Make sure to read the following guidelines in their entirety.
I’M INTERESTED IN ADOPTING- HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?
To start, please fill out the adoption application below. Our adoptions team will receive and review your applications to ensure you meet all adoption requirements.
When you submit your application, you will be asked to have TWO animals that you are interested in meeting with during your appointment. Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.
You can view all adoptable animals on our website. Please make note of their name and six digit ID number.
CONFIRM YOUR APPOINTMENT
Once your application is received you will receive a call from our adoption team within 24 hours to review your application and schedule an appointment
ARRIVING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
We are asking that no more than one person accompany you to the shelter.
All persons entering the shelter must be wearing masks per CDC guidelines.
Please follow the social recommendations (social distancing) by maintaining a distance of 6 feet from others, and refrain from shaking hands.
