On Tuesday, October 23, we were incredibly honored to receive this generous donation in honor of Marjory Stoneman Douglas victim, Jaime Guttenberg. Jaime used to attend camp here years ago, and her mother has started a charity to give back to the causes that were close to Jaime’s heart. We know she will forever be in ours.
In addition to the copious amount of supplies they gathered, the Guttenberg’s presented us with a $2,000 check to support our Canines for Community Resilience program. To learn more about our Animal Assisted Therapy Teams and CCR, please click here.
About Orange Ribbons for Jaime
Our Mission
On February 14th, 2018 our 14-year-old daughter Jaime Guttenberg, along with 16 other victims at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were tragically murdered by a troubled former student. Orange Ribbons For Jaime will honor our daughter by supporting programs that were important to her, as well as those dedicated to pursuing common sense gun safety reforms. This year’s charities that ORFJ are supporting will be: Jacob’s Pillow, Paley Institute, and Broward County Humane Society.
Orange Ribbons For Jaime is a 501(C)(3) foundation whose purpose will be to support causes important to Jaime in life, but also causes that will deal with the way her life was tragically cut short. We will look to make donations in the world of dance, and to organizations that deal with bullying and children with special needs.
