Throughout the year, longtime Humane Society of Broward County supporter J.R. Dunn Jewelers will be helping to create true love – by sponsoring pet adoptions so that more dogs and cats can find happy homes. The program (which is now entering its third year) is called “Diamond in the Ruff,” and who knows diamonds better than J.R. Dunn?

Over the past 2 years, J.R. Dunn has sponsored the adoption fees of a pet each week – yes, over 100 pets in all. What a fabulous way to put their money where their heart is, and to bring attention to all the amazing dogs and cats that are so ready to be loved. Furry little diamonds in the rough – just waiting for their “perfect setting!”

Is your family one of the over 100 “Diamond” families? Joe, who adopted Spirit (now Bowie) after he was featured in January of 2016, recently reached out to give us this heart-warming update.

Dear HSBC,

We just wanted to take a moment and share our adoption story and to thank everyone at HSBC and our friends at J.R. Dunn Jewelers. We adopted our then “Spirit” now “Bowie” last January after seeing a J.R. Dunn ‘Diamond in the Ruff’ facebook post. The image beautifully captured his charming yet mysterious eyes and we just had to meet him. Quickly we realized that he would make a wonderful addition to our family and he certainly has. Bowie loves to play in his backyard with his two big sisters, Bimini and Riza and his main job around the house is to remind me to feed them on time like clockwork and he takes that job very seriously! We’ve learned a bit about his backstory from the shelter where he was transferred from in Georgia and it’s clear that so many people have fallen in love with this little guy and made sure he was given every chance to find his forever home. Thank you for helping Bowie become a part of our little world!

Sincerely yours,

Kim, Joe, Natasha
