Do you all remember Mama Mia? She was featured on WPLG Local 10 news on May 21, 2016… and let’s just say the rest is history. Here is a note from our Adoption Ambassador coordinator, Crystal, who helped to facilitate this adoption.

Mama Mia is a 2 and 1/2-year old Chihuahua and Jack Russell mix. She was found in the Okeechobee area in an old abandoned barn with her four Rottweiler puppies. After they were rescued, all of her puppies were adopted right away, but Mama Mia still needed to be adopted.

May 21, 2016, the Lishon family saw Mama Mia’s picture on WPLG Local 10 News and rushed over to meet her. Nova always wanted a dog and was so excited to meet Mama Mia. It was love at first sight when they met for the first time! Mama Mia jumped on Nova’s lap, put her paws on Nova’s shoulders, and gave her a puppy hug! At that moment Nova knew she wanted to adopt Mama Mia.

Now Mama Mia has a forever home with a family that loves her with all their hearts! Mama Mia enjoys her days snuggling with her family, playing with her toys, running around in the backyard, and eating her favorite foods like cream cheese and spaghetti! Crystal
