A message from “Treats for a Cause” founder, Sophia Rothenberg.
My name is Sophia R. I am a varsity cheerleader at MSD and am excited to introduce this public fundraiser to recognize the unsung heroes who came to school every day serving as honorary cheerleaders to the MSD surviving community. The therapy animals who gave unconditional love and strength to the surviving community as we returned to school after that horrific day on Feb 14. We will never forget that day and how our lives were forever changed.
As this school year comes to a close we thank and show gratitude to these therapy animals with this campaign paying forward kindness in honor of them, in memory of the 17 beautiful angels we lost and in recognition of the entire surviving school community. In doing so a fund at the Broward Humane Society has been created to specifically support Animal Assisted Therapy Programs as well as the newly created Canine Community Resilience Program. The fund will be used to assist any child or family or organization who presents a verified need for their healing process.
It’s with great excitement that I announce that local baker Malinda of Busy Bee Cakery who is also an alumni of MSD will enthusiastically partner with me in this campaign. She has graciously offered to donate proceeds of orders for her delicious specialty cookies and specialty dog treats linked through this site.
Cookies and/or dog treats can be shipped anywhere nationwide in the USA and Canada. We hope you will think of this cause when ordering for your special occasion. Orders can be placed through our “Treats For A Cause” link.
For those who prefer to support this cause by making a direct donation in addition to or in place of ordering cookies/dogtreats please do so through our direct link to the Broward Humane Society (501c3).
Together with Malinda and Busy Bee Cakery we thank you in advance for helping us as we honor, remember and pay kindness forward.Sophia
