Countdown to the Walk
The HSBC is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) that does not receive any government funding or financial support from local or national organizations with similar names. However, through sponsor support, private donations, special events (like our Walk for the Animals), adoption fees, and other fundraising efforts, we are able to care for thousands of homeless animals throughout Broward County. Today we would like to highlight one of our Walk for the Animals Sponsors, Coconut Creek Subaru, who helps support our Walk and achieve our mission.
Together with the treatment from Dr. Hoffman and his beloved Zeus, I am happy to say Zachary is now in remission and has returned to FSU. He even worked at the dealership this summer! A year after being diagnosed our Subaru dealership partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). We were proud to learn of Subaru’s partnership with the LLS as they do so much locally in the community. Additionally, LLS and Sylvester both play critical roles in the lives of cancer patients like my son. Zachary and I decided to return to the place that once help us through treatment. We passed out the Subaru blankets to patients that were going through the same thing Zachary went through and we were able to speak with them and give them hope. I am so proud of my son! Thank you to Subaru and LLS for allowing us to give patients comfort and support and let them know that they are not alone.”
Weekly Walk “To Do”
Send a Little Love
|To all your current donors, as well as all of the companies and individuals from whom you wish to ask for a donation, why not send them a holiday card?
Studies have shown that past and present donors appreciate the gesture of a holiday card… it helps to signify that you are thinking about them! The best part, you don’t even need to ask for a donation. Just find a cute holiday card (like this one) and scribe a quick note.
Okay, so you may be asking: If I’m not asking for a donation, what’s the point?
It’s nice, that’s why! For your past donors: It signifies lingering gratitude. For your prospective donors: It shows just how thoughtful and stinkin’ nice you are!
So… as we gear up for the holiday season, give a little love! The holiday season and charitable giving go hand-in-hand, after all!
