October is national “Adopt an Adult Dog Month” and the Humane Society of Broward County encourages you to celebrate by stopping by to find your next family member and make your family complete! Waiting to meet you are fabulous dogs in all sizes, colors, shapes and breeds. We all know puppies are adorable, but they require a lot of work. When you adopt an adult dog there are no surprises as to how big the dog will get, often times they are already trained and you can see the fantastic personality that’s already developed. They may not be able to balance your checkbook or do the laundry, but they will be a forever grateful companion to create memories with.

Hugo (ID 602921)

Pet Flyer: October 11, 2018 Hugo 602921

Description: 2 years old, male

We hope you like PDA, because this sweet boy is all about it! Meet Hugo – a 2-year-old mixed breed with a lot of heart. This cutie thinks he’s a lapdog, and his favorite activities are giving cuddles and going on walks.

Hugo came to us from an overcrowded shelter in Puerto Rico, so we are still getting to know more about him. However, we see he is a little choosy with his canine friends, so if you have a pup at home, please schedule a puppy playdate with him.

Thunder (ID 603345)

Pet Flyer: October 11, 2018 Thunder 603345

Description: 11 weeks old, male

Thunder and his siblings are all beautiful, bouncy kittens who are looking for their forever homes.

Fancy (ID 601575)

Pet Flyer: October 11, 2018 Fancy 601575

Description: 2 years old, female

Don’t let her grey fur mislead you – this sweet girl is only 4 years old! Meet Fancy, a timid yet VERY sweet little girl who is eager to be your family’s newest friend.

Fancy came to us from another animal shelter where not too many people go to adopt. She has been with us for a few months now, and we have just fallen in love. This girl really is a catch.

Fancy appears to be housebroken, walks GREAT on a leash, loves to play catch, and just loves to be around her human friends. Like we mentioned, she is a bit shy at first, but she warms up quickly and will come to you for cuddles.

Overall, Fancy is calm (but still playful), happy, and a total love bug. Thanks to the generosity of one of our volunteers, Fancy’s adoption fee has been fully sponsored – so fall in love for FREE today!

Jane (ID 432035)

Pet Flyer: October 11, 2018 Jane 432035

Description: 7 years old, female

Is your lap chilly, because we have a cat that can help you with that. Meet Jane, and her favorite spot is on the laps of people she loves! This 7-year-old little lady is very friendly and affectionate, and she loves to lounge in sunny window sills. But don’t be misled, this girl still has her playful side. She really comes alive with a laser toy!

Lady (ID 601573)

Pet Flyer: October 11, 2018 Lady 601573

Description: 5 years old, female

Happy, sweet, gentle… these are the three words that perfectly describe Lady! This 5-year-old gal may look older, but she’s just prematurely grey. Lady still has some playful energy, but she just loves to receive affection.
