It is that time of year when we are paw-sitively packed with small, adorable puppies and kittens. The Hutson family recently adopted one of our young pups, and here is their heartwarming check-in!

“The staff had informed us that Cooper had already been adopted and returned once. We are seniors who already have two dogs, so they thought… why would we want another, especially a puppy!?
Well, we lost our boy, Walker, in early February to stomach cancer, and we were heartbroken. Our other Golden Retriever, Shiloh, missed his buddy so much he had fallen into a depression. Our Maltipoo, Elsa, is independent but knew things were not right.
By mid-April we knew we were emotionally ready to bring a new family member into the home. We assumed we would find a senior big guy to hang out with Shiloh, and surprised ourselves when we fell in love with Cooper, a 10-month-old Lab mix of questionable behavioral background.
Well, he is quickly learning his manners, is playing well with both Shiloh and Elsa and has filled a huge void in my husband’s heart! He was sent to us from heaven by way of the Humane Society!”
