We offer an on-site 3-month program for teens ages 16 to 18 and attending high school. Registration for 2025 opens on November 13, 2024 at approximately 3:00pm, and will remain open until all spots are full. Make sure you’re on our website then to secure your spot in one of our seven sessions. All positions for 2024 are currently full.
For Ages 13-17, our popular Teen Club has returned! We can’t wait for teens to join us, enjoy the animals, help the shelter and earn service hours for school.
Teens can earn their required high school community service hours by partnering with a parent and becoming a Teen Adoption Ambassador. The program is similar to foster care but goes a step further. Adoption Ambassadors will provide temporary homes for select dogs.
An exclusive partnership with the Broward County Libraries and the School Board of Broward County
Reading Buddies offers children an opportunity to come to the shelter and read to the adoptable cats and dogs. The program is perfect for struggling readers or those just wishing for a little more practice.
Any student is welcome to do a donation drive or a Personal Campaign to earn service hours. Please see the Student Donation Drive Packet or Student Personal Campaign Packet for more information.
The Humane Society of Broward County (HSBC) is approved by the School Board of Broward County to offer our Humane Education and Shelter Tour lessons to Broward County students.
