As part of the relief effort after Hurricane Ian, the Humane Society of Broward County is providing aid to animal shelters on the devastated west coast of Florida.
The aid we are providing includes assisting in shelter operations like cleaning, feeding animals, walking animals and conducting medical examinations. Additional aid has been provided directly to the shelter workers in the form of food, water, cleaning supplies and gasoline.
The Humane Society of Broward County is also participating in almost daily animal transports both from Florida’s west coast to our shelter and from our shelter to shelters on the northeast of the US. These transportations will provide much needed space for hurricane displaced animals.
Our Hurricane Ian Relief Funds go directly to providing aid and transportation to the pets and people in need on Florida’s west coast, including the Gulf Coast Humane Society and Collier County Domestic Animal Services.
So far, we have provided:
-120 Gallons of gas
-5 Pallets of water – donated by Hospitality Purchasing

-Case of disinfectant
