Ralphie’s Reading Buddies

Do you enjoy reading?  Do you need practice reading aloud?  Do you love animals?  If you answered “yes” to all of those question then you should join Ralphie’s Reading Buddies at the Humane Society of Broward County.  Come and read to either the homeless dogs or cats and make their day!  The animals love hearing the natural sound of a human’s voice during their stay here at the shelter.

  • May 11, 2022  4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

If you choose to read with the kitties, you will be allowed to go into the community cat rooms and pet the cats while reading.

If you choose to read to the dogs, please bring a cozy blanket to sit on. You will be reading outside of their cages. Although you won’t be able to pet them, they love hearing the sound of your voice. It is very comforting to them. Feel free to bring some treats as well to feed them while you read.

We have a large variety of animal-related books available for you to choose from. You are welcome to use ours or bring your own books to read.

Parents must supervise their children at all times.

A donation of $15.00 a session is required and must be pre-registered.
