Dolly’s Dream

dolly dream logo

In the Winter 2016 Paw Prints we introduced Dolly’s Dream Project funded by the Levitetz Family Foundation. The project covers the cost for spay/neuter surgery for American Staffordshire terriers and mixes and helps with surrender prevention.

Dolly’s Dream has expanded and now they are underwriting the adoption fee of select bully breed dogs. In addition to underwriting the fee, they will cover the costs for the basic items that the dog will need to succeed in their new home. This includes a training crate, Sensation harness or No-Pull harness, chew toys, collar, ID tag, leash, training treat bag and basic dishes. If necessary, they will also cover the cost of obedience classes here at the Humane Society of Broward County.

Each week there will be two dogs featured who are part of the Dolly’s Dream Project and a sign is on their kennel door so potential adopters know about the offer.

Meet Our Current Dolly’s Dream Dogs

Katerina ID 694614

Oh, sweet Katerina! She’s just a laid-back gal who loves her tennis balls and basking in the sun! Katerina is soaking up the Florida sunshine and dreaming of her forever home! This sweet, affectionate 4-year-old adores leash walks, giving hugs, and—most of all—sunbathing! If you have a big backyard, a pool, or even a boat, she’d love to be your sunny sidekick. Katerina enjoys playing and then cooling off in the cool AC. She’s great with other dogs and has the most relaxed, lovable personality. Katerina is just one of the many wonderful pets hoping to find a family to love. Thanks to Dolly’s Dream, they have kindly paid her adoption fee and she gets to go home with goodies to help her settle into her new home.

Come meet Katerina and all her furry friends at the Humane Society of Broward County, located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL. The adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. If you have questions, call 954-989-3977 ext. 6. Visit www.humanebroward.com to complete the pre-adoption application and then stop by.

Ghost ID 695267

Can I go home with you?  I’m six-years-old and my name is Ghost. I was adopted from another shelter, and only had a home for 3 months before the landlord said I had to go.  Although it was a short time, my owner left me a raving review. At 78 pounds I’m a big boy, so there is a lot of me to love. I’m very friendly, love to play fetch and play outside.  I’ve been described as an affectionate cuddle bug, who enjoys bath time, being brushed and spending time with my family.  I get along with dogs, cats, and kids, and know some basic commands.  Going for car rides is one of my favorite things and treats with peanut butter are welcomed.  Thanks to Dolly’s Dream, they have kindly paid my adoption fee and I get to go home with goodies to help me settle into my new home.

To meet Ghost (ID 695267) or any other pet at the Humane Society of Broward County visit www.humanebroward.com to complete the pre-adoption application.  The shelter is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312, and the adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m.
