Dolly’s Dream

dolly dream logo

In the Winter 2016 Paw Prints we introduced Dolly’s Dream Project funded by the Levitetz Family Foundation. The project covers the cost for spay/neuter surgery for American Staffordshire terriers and mixes and helps with surrender prevention.

Dolly’s Dream has expanded and now they are underwriting the adoption fee of select bully breed dogs. In addition to underwriting the fee, they will cover the costs for the basic items that the dog will need to succeed in their new home. This includes a training crate, Sensation harness or No-Pull harness, chew toys, collar, ID tag, leash, training treat bag and basic dishes. If necessary, they will also cover the cost of obedience classes here at the Humane Society of Broward County.

Each week there will be two dogs featured who are part of the Dolly’s Dream Project and a sign is on their kennel door so potential adopters know about the offer.

Meet Our Current Dolly’s Dream Dogs

Sally (ID 712320)

Meet Sally (ID 712320) — a 2-year-old, 47-pound bully breed beauty who’s ready to go home. Sally spent months waiting at another shelter—from October through late January—before getting her lucky break and transferring to the Humane Society of Broward County. Now she’s hoping this stop is the last one… straight into a forever home of her own.
This girl is active, energetic, and always on the move. Sally loves to play and does best with other dogs who can match her energy level. Mellow couch-potato pups need not apply—Sally is all about go, go, go and would thrive with a playful canine buddy or an adopter who enjoys an active lifestyle. She’s a fun-loving, enthusiastic pup who’s ready for adventures, play sessions, and plenty of enrichment to keep both her body and brain busy. Her experience with cats is currently unknown. If you’re looking for a lively, athletic companion who’s been patiently waiting for her chance to shine, Sally may be your perfect match.

Thanks to Dolly’s Dream, they have kindly paid her adoption fee.

To meet Sally, visit www.humanebroward.com and complete the pre-adoption application.  The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312 and the adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m.  If you have any questions call 954-989-3977.

Delta (ID 712607)

Meet Delta a 2-year-old Male, American Bulldog Mix who is always ready to go, go, go! Delta is an energetic, friendly boy who gets super excited for walks and loves having something to do. With an active owner, he’ll shine. Delta loves playing fetch and after 10–15 minutes, he does settle down.  This fellow enjoys going for walks and exploring, likes playing in water and is good in the car.  He is still learning but knows sit and down and takes treats gently.  It is unknown how he is with cats, and if you have a dog at home, a meet and greet is recommended.  Delta was transferred to the Humane Society from another shelter where he was getting overlooked, so his past is a mystery.  Are you ready to give this fun-loving fellow his forever home.  He is trying to keep his spirits up and keeps himself entertained, but he deserves so much more.

Thanks to Dolly’s Dream, they have kindly paid his adoption fee, and he gets to go home with goodies from the shelter’s Pet Boutique.

Delta is waiting to meet you at the Humane Society of Broward County located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312.  Visit www.humanebroward.com to fill out the pre-adoption application form.  The adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. and if you have any questions call 954-989-3977.
