About

Those eyes. Gertrude is six years old, housebroken, and full of love, yet she has been passed from shelter to shelter since September, still waiting for someone to finally choose her for good. She adores her stuffy toys, loves being close to her people, and has the biggest heart, even after so much uncertainty. This gal doesn't act her age and will fetch with a ball or stuffy endlessly. She can be strong on the leash and will need someone willing to guide her, but what Gertrude needs most is a family who will not give up on her again. She deserves a warm home, a soft toy to carry around, and a place where she can finally feel safe and stay forever. Can she be your new BFF? Thanks to Dolly's Dream they have kindly paid her adoption fee and she gets to go on a shopping spree in the shelter's Pet Boutique to pick out all the toys she wants. To meet Gertrude visit www.humanebroward.com and complete the pre-adoption application. The shelter is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale and the adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. Call 954-989-3977 with any questions.
